This genus is very large within the orchid group and is originally from the American continent. These plants don’t ask a lot of care and they can grow in different habitats. This genus is originated from areas nearby the sea until the snowy mountaintops therefore there are a lot off varieties available.
The nomenclature are Oncidium and contains for example: Ada, Aspasia, Baptistonia, Braasiella, Cischweinfia, Comparetia, Cyrtochilum, Helcia, Leochilus, Lockhartia, Ionopsis, Macradenia, Mesospinidium, Notylia, Olgasis, Psygmorchis, Sigmatostalix, Slenidiopsis, Tolumnia, Trichopilia.
